Since I'm in France and 2.5 months is the maximum amount of time they will extend the warranty, they said I can't repair it. I've tried the factory reset and it didn't work either. I need the device to be repaired or replaced. All I want is to be able to read my books again. It is the only device I have and I love it. And it is not a cheap device. I can not understand why I can not repair it. Please help me. I don't see a reason why I can not get it repaired or replaced.
It's not the best ebook reader for beginners and it's not the best choice for avid readers. For casual reading, though, the Pyrus Mini is perfect for things like textbooks, magazines, and short books. It's also great for children where the size and portability is important.
Also, if you are looking to read epubs, you can read them fine on the Pyrus Mini. Though I had to use a reader app because of some issues with the epubs. Thankfully, the Pyrus Mini has a list of apps you can use to read them, and most of them are pretty good. Even though I do find that the epubs are loading different than on an iPad, they load just fine if you watch your back on ads.
It took me about an hour to get this reader working. I tried the recommended reset, and the hard reset. I also tried to install the software again (as it didn't work the first time). I also tried to install the Kindle app for my Windows PC (I use a Mac). When you turn your Kindle on, it just shows the black screen with the Kindle logo. If you hold the power button for 3-5 seconds, the device boots up. It's kind of a timer to allow you to see the boot sequence. It takes a few seconds for the Kindle to start up (it's so old that it takes a few seconds, no wonder it's working slow). As soon as the Kindle is up and running, you can access the Kindle app on your PC or Mac. This is where I found that the software doesn't install properly (and after that I couldn't access the Kindle app at all).
The Kindle is one of the heavier ebook readers out there. In fact, it weighs just over three pounds. It's not light at all, but it's not heavy either. It's a solid piece of steel and doesn't have any sharp edges. It feels good in your hand. It even feels comfortable when you're reading in bed, as long as you have your Kindle propped up on the pillow next to you. 827ec27edc
